Basic Life Support (BLS) Trained Kottakkal Community

Health & Education

Every second counts during a medical emergency. The Basic Life Support (BLS) Project of Faith Foundation was established with the vision of creating communities where ordinary people are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to save lives before professional medical help arrives. Many lives are lost not because treatment is unavailable, but because immediate assistance is delayed. Through this initiative, we aim to bridge that critical gap by training individuals in essential life-saving skills and promoting a culture of preparedness and responsible community action. Early CPR and timely first response can significantly improve survival during emergencies such as cardiac arrest, choking, drowning, trauma, and other life-threatening situations.

The project focuses on providing practical, hands-on Basic Life Support and CPR training to students, teachers, volunteers, employees, community members, institutions, and the general public. Participants learn how to recognize emergencies, assess the situation safely, activate emergency medical services, perform high-quality CPR, manage choking, and respond confidently until professional healthcare providers arrive. Our training sessions emphasize real-life simulations, skill practice, and confidence building so that participants are prepared to act when every second matters.

Beyond training, the BLS Project works to build a network of trained first responders who can serve their communities during emergencies. We collaborate with educational institutions, workplaces, local organizations, healthcare professionals, and volunteers to expand the reach of life-saving knowledge. The project also conducts awareness campaigns, demonstrations, mock drills, volunteer development programmes, and community outreach activities to ensure that emergency preparedness becomes a shared responsibility rather than the responsibility of healthcare professionals alone.
Our long-term vision is to create a society where life-saving skills are as common as basic education. We believe that anyone, regardless of age or profession, can become a lifesaver with the right training and practice. By empowering individuals with knowledge, confidence, and compassion, the Faith Foundation BLS Project strives to build safer communities where people are ready to respond, protect lives, and make a difference when it matters most.
