Transforming Kottakkal Municipality into a BLS Trained Community
EducationOur flagship project, 'Transforming Kottakkal Municipality into BLS-Trained Community', aims to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) training to 20,000 residents. Rooted in social responsibility, the project is built on the belief that emergencies demand immediate action and that lives can be saved when communities are prepared. As emergencies do not wait for ambulances, the initiative focuses on equipping citizens with essential life-saving skills. Phase 1 concentrated on training school students, nurturing a generation of informed and confident first responders. Phase 2 expanded the program to municipal councillors, Kudumbashree members, shopkeepers, and mothers within households. Phase 3 extends the training to the general public and laymen, ensuring that life-saving knowledge reaches every corner of the municipality. By engaging individuals across age groups and social roles, the project aims to build a resilient, socially committed Kottakkal. This initiative is not merely a training program, but a collective promise that no life should be lost due to lack of awareness, and that every hand knows how to help in an emergency.
